Conference about Industry 4.0 in the automotive industry

Within the grant project no. 21640389 supported by the Visegrad fund (www.visegradfund.org), the Department of automobile production cooperate on preparation of the conference "INDUSTRY 4.0 in the Automotive Industry: how to adapt university education to new challenges in industry." The scheduled date for the conference is October 2017.

The project partners are:

- Budapest University of Technology and Economics (Hungary) as the main partner,
- Tomas Bata University in Zlín (Czech Republic),
- University of Green Mountain (Poland),
- Technical University of Košice (Slovak Republic).

 

The automotive industry has great importance for the Central European region. At present, the automotive industry is increasingly determined by the trend referred as INDUSTRY 4.0. In addition, this trend is a challenge for the automotive industry, and it is also a challenge faced by universities. INDUSTRY 4.0 is itself a very complex topic of education and therefore cooperation between universities is inevitable.
The main goal of the project is to gather and share knowledge and experience about current praxis in INDUSTRY 4.0. Another goal is development of education module for Industry 4.0 for the participating universities, so that new graduates can start their career in the automotive industry with experience in Industry 4.0.

WHY STUDY "AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTION" MASTER PROGRAMME?

The aim of the project was to design and build a fully functional, life-size car that would represent the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and students of automotive production in their acquired skills, knowledge and abilities.

The car was designed to impress with its originality, aggressiveness, speed, modern innovative features and sporty appearance, appealing especially to the younger generation as well as to sporty motorists.


The project was built to model the real process of automotive companies, with real constraints and with the didactic intention of maximum team creativity based on the learnig by doing method. The project had no grant, the funding was provided by the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Dr.hc. Prof. Ing. Miroslav Badida, PhD. from the laboratory building fund.

The expert guarantor of the project was prof. Ing. Milan Kováč, DrSc. - Director of the Institute of Technology and Management and Head of the Innovation Centre of Automotive Production.
