Lectures by industry experts – Technical and economic advantages of cold galvanizing
The company Renojava from Prešov presented an expert lecture to students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, focused on modern solutions for protecting metal structures against corrosion. The main topic was the product ZINGA, which represents a single-layer zinc coating with a very high zinc content. During the lecture, students were introduced to the principle of cathodic protection of steel, which is comparable to traditional hot-dip galvanizing. The speakers also explained the advantages of applying the ZINGA system directly on site without the need to dismantle the structure. Various application methods were discussed, such as application by brush, roller, or spraying. Students also learned about the practical use of the product in protecting bridges, steel structures, and pipelines. The lecture also included examples of repairing already galvanized surfaces using the ZINGA system. The compatibility of this system with various coating technologies used in industry was also emphasized. The lecture provided students with valuable insight into modern corrosion protection technologies. At the same time, it connected theoretical knowledge from their studies with practical experience from industrial practice.
